If you’re looking to build a passive income stream from your blog, Amazon affiliate marketing<\/strong> is still one of the most beginner-friendly options in 2026. You earn commissions by linking to helpful products on Amazon, and when readers click through and buy, you get a cut of the sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commission rates currently range from 1% to 10% depending on the product category, and Amazon counts qualifying purchases for 24 hours after a reader clicks one of your links. That’s the good news. The trickier news: AI search has changed how people discover product recommendations, and that’s reshaped what works (and what doesn’t) for Amazon affiliates. In 2012 I was looking for fun stuff to buy so I searched \u201cawesome stuff to buy<\/strong>\u201d and after seeing plenty of sites just using Amazon\u2019s affiliate program I knew there was potential in this niche.<\/p>\n\n\n

Today, the site brings in around $1,000 a month consistently (with the holiday months often jumping up closer to $7,000), which is nice to have as a little extra side income for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know it\u2019s not $130,000 a month like some of Ryan\u2019s friends<\/a><\/em>, but no matter how much you earn monthly, it’s rewarding to share your knowledge online (in a way that’s fun) and actually get paid for it!<\/p>\n\n\n
